You can now get your marathon entries through Howler. How? The same way you’d get any other tickets- with our cashless and fuss-free process. As the latest in a series of diversifications, we’re expanding our digital footprint into yet another market- this time, the active space.

This means more events, better operations and countless memories made. Organisers of athletic events are able to tap into our popular platform and utilise our next-gen tech. Finally.

Why are we doing this?

Thanks to the pandemic, widespread interest in exercise has surged. Between the home workouts and a movement towards wellness, attendance in outdoor active events is booming. Seriously. The fitness industry can attest. And now, we can too.

Already, over 30 South African races and sporting affairs have been listed on Howler Active’s brand new portal, including the world-renowned Sanlam Cape Town Marathon and the 947 Ride Joburg. And if you’re an exercise-averse sportstar, that’s cool too. Howler Active has a vast selection of events- not all competitive.

How it works?

Simple. Users purchase their entry through our intuitive Howler platform. And if the event is cashless, they can use a Howler wristband for on-the-go payments- even in no-network areas. Mountain biking along a cliff? No biggie. Tap to transact and complete your payment in less than 3 seconds. No delays necessary.

“This is yet another first for our dynamic platform that proves, over and over, just how versatile it really is,” Expresses a positive Shai Evian, Howler CEO. “Just a few months ago, we disrupted the live streaming market with Howler Stream; our virtual events platform. Now, we’re onto athletics and sports. If it wasn’t for Covid-19, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to pursue new verticals,” he explains.

Dimension Data is that Johannesburg-based IT company that partnered with the Tour de France, then sold for $11 billion dollars. How did they do it? Simple. Through tech.

Dimension Data was responsible for gathering and distributing race information to viewers, sponsors and competitors- in real-time, and through some of the most difficult terrain that Europe has to offer. Yikes.

Also gracing our panel will be Willem Roux, Co-Founder of Faces Africa- the South African premier athletic event partner. As the owner of over 40 of South Africa’s top sports events, Willem is both an expert and a leader in the industry. Without Faces Africa, there’d be no Otter Trail or Sanlam Cape Town Marathon.
