Gatherings in 2020? What are those?

With cancelled conventions and delayed expos, nobody thought South Africa’s biggest gaming and technology exhibition would go ahead. But, thanks to Howler Stream, it did. Virtually.

rAge Expo broadcast a variety of streams for thousands of its gamers to engage with. From esports and giveaways to panels and interviews; there was something for everyone. And every character. Yup. Cosplay lives on. Even in the modern-day apocalypse.

“We were hesitant to offer our fans a virtual experience that might not live up to their expectations,” explains Michael James, rAge Expo project director. “Howler’s platform was easy to use and understand, and their team customised the virtual experience from beginning to end.”

There were zones. There were streams. And there were winners. Thank you, sponsors!

Features used:

✔️ Ticketing
✔️ Multiple stages
✔️ Gated streams
✔️ Live and on-demand
✔️ Chat functions

Plus, the World Robot Olympiad joined. That’s huge. Not keen to watch robots? You didn’t have to. You could play esports, do some networking or learn about career opportunities. You could even build. In the Minecraft Build-A-Thing, players were invited to jump in, claim a plot and create something amazing.

“The end result was a slick-looking and exceptionally-functional virtual event site that worked flawlessly… Thanks to the team at Howler for all the long hours and professional service!”

Shucks. You’re welcome.

We set out with the three-day digital fan fair to wow the gaming community. And wow them, we did.

Check it out while it’s still available.
